We all deserve a place where we feel comfortable and joyous.

Whether you're working with a shoestring budget or a blank check, I'm here to help you fall in love with the space you come home to every day.

That said — if you're loyal to carpet in the bathroom, own a coyote statue wearing a pastel bandana, or your 1982 black lacquer waterbed is your idea of "vintage," this might not be our moment. No hard feelings.

And meet Preston, the SHADE peacock

Hi, my name is Shannon Moore

My obsession with design started at age 7, when I built my first fort — complete with a custom holder for my AM radio. I didn't know the word "intentional" yet, but I absolutely meant every design decision.

Since then, I've spent years working across different corners of the design world, which is how I eventually found my way to founding Shade. The name says it all, really. I've always been drawn to spaces that are dark and cozy — the kind of room that wraps around you the moment you walk in. Warm, layered, a little mysterious. That feeling.

Don't worry — I'm not here to turn your home into a dungeon. Unless that's exactly what you want, in which case, let's talk. What I am here to do is find the right balance of light, texture, and atmosphere so that every room feels like it was made specifically for you.

Living room with beige sofa, white armchair, fireplace, TV, mirror, shelves with decor, and various decorative items.
Living room with a gray couch, three red throw pillows, and one patterned pillow in front of a large stone fireplace. Two lamps, one on each side of the fireplace, and framed artwork on the walls.

Kind words

Shannon transformed our living room, and wow—what a difference. What used to feel awkward and a little heavy is now one of our favorite spaces in the house. It’s warm, functional, and finally just works.

Shannon didn’t just design it—she made the whole thing happen. From bringing in the right contractor to guiding every decision (and somehow landing us on the perfect paint colors), she handled it all. Every detail felt intentional, but never overwhelming on our end. To say Shannon has a good eye for layout balance, and design, is an understatement. She completely reworked the space in a way we never would have thought of—but now couldn’t imagine it any other way.

Also, she’s just really fun to work with. Super positive, quick-witted, professional, and made the whole process feel easy instead of stressful.

Shannon will take your space and make it better than you thought it could be! She is the best of the best!
